At Muckross farm beside Muckross House (Killarney, Ireland) the full farming year of the 1920's is re-enacted just the way it was done in this period of Irish history.  This time is before the tractor was on the farm and all the work was done with horses,  donkeys and the farmer himself.

The Potato Famine in Ireland     Irish history and educational DVD.
The tragic story of a family from Kilrea  is told in this dramatised documentary of The Great Famine in Ireland.  Days of Hunger shows the consequence of the Blight which arrived in Ireland in 1845 (Ireland DVD).

The history of Garvagh over the last One Hundred years is told in this great series of Local History DVD's.  With volume 5 now on the market this production is a must for any one connected to Garvagh.  Many years of research have created this very interesting Irish DVD full of historical events.

The History of Farming In this particular production we look at the changing face of Farming in Ireland,  from the cruel practice of horse ploughing by the tail through to more modern methods.

The ''praties'' is a term that has been used for centuries to describe the potatoes in this part of the country (Ireland) and when intensive potato farming became popular, men who grew a lot of potatoes were known as Prattimen.    Featuring Modern Day "Farming in Ireland".

John Thompson began making Irish History videos and Irish DVDs over 20 years ago. But it was in 1991 with the release of "Farming Down the Years" that he realised that there was a large interest in films which showed farming in days gone by.  Having a background in Irish farming subjects such as corn farming, potato farming cutting turf and growing flax was all part of Irish life in 20th century Ireland helped in the making of all these productions. While the ways of Ireland's past have changed drastically over the last 100 years these DVDs Preserve the Past for future generations.  Common rural life is showing with in the DVDs activities such as thatching a house with hay, cutting turf at the moss and the ways of life in rural Ireland are covered in this library of Irish DVDs.

All aspects of Irish History are covered in this great series of Ireland DVDs.
